Link the front and back of images by their identifiers or other specific metadata as If the images can be linked in some way, it will make them more readily available. Sometimes images have pertinent information written on the back, and I've found visitors often wish to see both sides (as if they were looking at it in person). We also have many postcards with inscriptions on them which get digitized for online browsing and research. In this situation, scanning and maintaining both sides is necessary. I often link my images in Contentdm by their identifiers for ease of viewing.
